 SONGWRITING WORKSHOPS:
*NEW!*
Write Songs to Heal! Songwriting workshops
facilitated by Vanessa Stevens

In this two-part interactive talk and workshop, singer/songwriter and founder of The Purple Song Project Vanessa Stevens shares a brief insight into how songwriting helped her heal as a survivor of abuse, how music has played a critical role in her life and how writing songs can help you to explore your own story.

You’ll learn: the two phases in the craft of songwriting; the inspiration and the sweat! The inspiration phase is where we have the desire to create and the second phase (the sweat phase!) where we enlist the tools effectively to  how to create, the “how,” to help us clearly communicate to our listeners.

Learning the valuable skill of songwriting can help you to put your poems to music and capture and effectively express your thoughts and ideas. You’ll even have a better understanding of the songs you hear on the radio!

Instruments are optional, and there is no additional charge for materials. Bring a pen/pencil and a notebook. Handouts will be provided. There is a door prize each workshop.

"Write Songs to Heal" workshop, introducing survivors to songwriting as a healing tool.
