Finding my voice again and wanting to give backmeant also creating a concert that not only would contain music, but other thrivers sharing their stories, talents and gifts with the world, in hopes that they too can relate to thriving. If we're all survivors of something (loss, illness or trauma) why can't we all be thrivers of that "something" as well?
Joining forces with Susan Omilian, our first project was co-producing a CD together, a companion to her Thriver Workbook: Journey From Victim to Survivor to Thriver!
After two successful events, (and the CD) we knew 2012 would be the year to GROW. This year, we've invited Meredith Baxter to be our keynote speaker and each year we will invite thrivers such as Meredith, as well as speakers from our own group, to continue the empowerment and inspiration.
It was truly an enlightening, empowering evening about changing lives, with live music, positive energy and inspiring success stories, this
event will inspire anyone on a journey of self-discovery, heightened
self-esteem and healing to permanently break the cycle of violence in
their lives and create a new future for themselves and their children.
The evening’s Special Guest will be actress Meredith Baxter, a Thriver Success Story! In her talk, Breaking Family Ties: Empowering Ourselves to Overcome Domestic Violence, Meredith offers her own inspiring story of courage, hope, self-acceptance and happiness.
While performing acclaimed roles on television including Family Ties
and over fifty movies, Meredith has also faced domestic abuse, battled
alcoholism and breast cancer, and started her own business while raising
five children.
Musicians Kate, Donna and Vanessa
shared their songs and stories to our first ever Thriver Spirit and Song event, held at Northwest Park, Windsor Ct. in April of 2010.
