Modern day slavery is still going on, right here in the US! According to the United States Department of State there are approximately 14,500–17,500 people a year trafficked into the United States – mostly women and children.

Wed. Feb. 15, we'll give you a night out of FREE LIVE entertainment, but also a chance to learn about this cause that affects millions, from city to city, from the consumer to the business man

Thoughts on Gifts/New Presentation Scheduled!

Excited that we have been working on a particular presentation ever since June and here, like a gift for the holidays?!
We received word that WE GOT IT!!

SAVE THE DATE,if you will, for our Connecticut presentationat Newington Hgh School on Wednesday May 30th At 7 pm,to high school seniors, parents, private and public school administrators and others.

An interactive presentation complete with live purple songs, telling my story (which I've only recently begun to come out with, at more and more requests from others,) and telling Maggie's Story, the story about Susan's niece who was murdered in her college dorm by her ex boyfriend, who then shot and killed himself and sent Susan on her mission, to give other abuse survivors something that her own niece Maggie never got the chance to do:thrive after surviving abuse.

We need your help!

We are looking for locations to set up bins to donate Books & Clothing:
Donations benefit Connecticut Alliance for Victims of Violence & Their Families (CT-ALIVE)  This is one of the organizations I currently serve as board member on.

We are looking for locations for drop-off donation containersso that CT-ALIVE can raise money with donations of new/used books, CDs, DVDs, records/audio books and used clothing from community members.
All funds raised through the collection of these donations will benefit the programs and projects of CT-ALIVE, which help victims of violence to grow, heal and change.

Writing Your Elevator Speech

Everybody has a story to tell.
In a room of motivated entrepreneurs that fact, on its own, is inspiring.

A few months back, I went to a networking luncheon where the women at our table got a chance to share.

One woman lived in the Caribbean and has written three books on inspiring others to,yup, thrivein their lives and emotional and spiritual well being.Others have started businesses or have come through horrible divorces or illnesses. No doubt each of these women were success stories. Several women talked about how  they get to help other women through their own chosen line of work.

10 Ways to Be Resilient

β€œMan never made any material as resilient as the human spirit.”
Bern Williams

I opened a fortune cookie years ago that read:
"No need to worry! You will always have everything you need."

It was just a fortune cookie, a silly little paper inside an individually packaged crumbly low-cal cookie at the bottom of my empty Chinese take out bag. These words have become a silent mantra for my own emotional resilience.

In my life, I have oftennotreceived what I wanted but I've always received what I needed.
