Yes, and you're right Middlebury is also the home of American Idol  finalist Katie Stevens. :)

Also, we may post on another blog. Last year we set up a sister site  at Wordpress.com to experiment. While we like a lot about blogger, Wordpress seems to offer  more space and pages and is easier for YOU  to leave your comments, if you feel the need.

So....we MAY moving over to Wordpress by June 15, still working on that site to get it up and ready. We'll post the new link when its ready!

About this Project:
This is a movement to help deliver an important message of Domestic Violence Recovery through songs to help survivors feel understood and validated, soothed and comforted.

Music is the universal language and has the power to heal as well as inspire and to enlighten as well as entertain. When it is used exclusively to help inspire healing, we call this recovery music.

The project has gained momentum with appearances on big stages such as Bushnell theater in Hartford Connecticut, the Nutmeg TV station original television show "Beyond Violence" and several remembrance vigils and workshops for women.

Currently founder Vanessa Stevens  is at work on a CD of original songs surrounding the subject of Domestic Abuse and is working to fulfill the project's main mission :to create an annual concert inviting other songwriters to write and present a song about Domestic Violence.

"Vanessa’s voice is powerful as a thunderstorm, then soft and tender as a warm breeze...”
~Ed Riley, Alchemy DJ, Waterbury Ct

Proceeds of both CD and concert will go to Domestic Violence prevention programs throughout the state of Connecticut.

Why the name? Purple is the color of Domestic Violence Awareness."Purple Songs"are any songs pertaining to the realization of abuse (aka Domestic Violence) and  the survivors healing journey.
